Ebony Hoffman led the Fever to a 78-73 win over the Sacramento Monarchs with a career high 23 points, 13 rebounds, and tied a career high with 4 steals Tuesday night.

Indiana held the lead briefly early in the first, 8-6 but were quickly taken over by the Monarchs.
Early in the 2nd quarter the Fever were down 18 points but rallied to get within 7 with 2 minutes left in the half. Sacramento answered back by pushing the lead back to 15 before the clock ran down.
“It obviously wasn’t the type of start we wanted,” Douglas said. “It wasn’t something we expected or really wanted.”
Midway through the 3rd the Fever worked to get within 2, 50-48. They closed the half 58-57 with a pair of free throws from Tamika Catchings.
The game was tied at 60 early in the 4th on a jumper from Hoffman. The Fever took the lead with a 3 from Allison Feaster and Catchings added to the lead with a jumper at the 2 minute mark, 72-64.
“It took a great defensive effort to overcome the deficit,” coach Lin Dunn said. “This is the best Fever defense I’ve seen this season.”
